All are welcome to try a simple folk dance and sing a Polish song. Four regional folk costumes will be on display\, each sharing a unique story. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the arrival of spring by joining us for the Marzanna tradition on March 21 st.\nJoin us on March 21st at 12:30 pm to take part in this old tradition of saying goodbye to winter. We will celebrate Marzanna at Highbanks Metro Park. Enter from US 23\, just south of the intersection with Powell Rd. We will meet in the Big Meadows Picnic Area at the end of the main road. \nThe tradition of destroying Marzanna\, a hay doll\, dates back to pagan times and is connected to the Mother Earth spring holiday of St Jary. People would parade Marzanna out of the village with rattles\, whips\, singing\, and music to drive away evil. Then\, Marzanna was thrown into a river and set on fire. This ritual was meant to chase away winter\, welcome spring\, and bring a good harvest. \nHere’s what we have planned for the three-hour event: \n\nSpring parade\nDestroying the Marzanna doll\nLooking for the first signs of spring\nEnjoying a potluck picnic outdoors\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nBring your favorite dish to share.

DESCRIPTION:🇵🇱 Polish American Club of Columbus: Board Elections Announcement\nThe Polish American Club of Columbus will hold elections for Board Officers\, Trustees\, and a Social Media Content Creator on April 25\, 2026\, at 3 PM at the Kosciuszko Park Pavilion. All positions are volunteer roles. Trustees serve two-year terms\, and officers serve one-year terms. Any adult member in good standing may run or vote.\nIf you want to help lead the Club and support our mission to celebrate Polish traditions\, language\, music\, and dance\, we invite you to consider serving.\nTrustees attend monthly meetings and help organize and promote cultural events. You do not need previous experience. We are looking for people with goodwill\, a positive attitude\, and an interest in supporting the PAC community.\nWe are also looking for a Social Media Content Creator to help share our events\, news\, and Polish culture online in a friendly and engaging way.\nTo nominate yourself or someone else\, please email the PAC Board with your name and a short statement of interest\, or your nominee’s name and contact information. While Majówka is traditionally celebrated in early May with Labor Day\, Flag Day\, and Constitution Day\, we are bringing the festivities to you a bit sooner.
