YogaBear Club

if gb 4627

YogaBear Club for ladies involves not only exercise sessions with elements of aerobic, yoga and dance but also an active social life. The meetings usually end with getting “a bite” to eat. Hence the name of the club. Usually, they take place every Thursday, 7 p.m. at Upper Arlington Library Lane Branch. During summer months that location is not available. We meet in parks, on farms or hiking trails, in private yards. We not only exercise then but also walk, run, ride bikes or pick fruit.
The sessions are FREE OF CHARGE. Please check with Marzena Myszkowska, tel. 614.596.3282 about the meeting.

Pacanow

Notice: Pacanow school
is currently suspended
due to the lack of volunteers

Pacanow - little PAC for little PAC members

PACanow is our PAC chapter for children.  It was created in September of 2005 as a Saturday Polish school for kids. Average age of PACanow member is 8 years. The word PACanow is a word play of “PAC” (as the Polish American Club) and “Pacanow” – a real town located in southern Poland and a mythical destination of a fictional character Koziolek-Matolek, created by Kornel Makuszyński, well know Polish author of children literature. Later, Pacanow evolved into a kindergarten club for children. They enjoy spending the time together and learning Polish language by play and interaction.

Pacanow Activities

Pacanow classes take place every Saturday at 11:30 AM until about 1:00pm at the Upper Arlington Library, Lane Road Branch on 1945 Lane Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43220

Rules

We attend the gatherings every Saturday and we are on time.

We talk, sing, learn and play in Polish only.

We leave "The Little Poland" with our parents.

Weekly classes lasting an hour and a half are not going to bring results without parents’ help at home.

Fees and support

The school fee is due at the beginning of the school year:

PAC members - $40.00 per family;

Non-members - $60.00 per family

School supplies are provided.

PACanow completed the 2013/2014 school year!

Kids seem to enjoy it more than ever and new kids are joining in the fall! We had ice cream and every student received a diploma along with a small gifts.

Thank you Zuzia, Gosia and Patrycja - PACanow teachers – PACanow would not happen without you! We will miss Patrycja next year but wish her and her family all the best in the new chapter of their life.

Thank you to all parents supporting the Saturday meetings – see you again in the September! Have a wonderful and safe summer!

Santa visits Pacanow

According to the Polish tradition, Santa (“Mikołaj”) comes on December 6th and brings presents to all good children. The naughty ones get “rózga”, which is a stick to spank them.

Every year Santa visits PACanow. As always, kids were pleasantly surprised and happy to see the Big Red Guy with white beard. They sang for him a few songs, recited a few poems and gave him big hug as he was leaving. All children at Polish school received presents; not one got the “rózga”. Thank you Santa, we love you! And see you next year.
